Lost At Sea

Two lonely figures stand out in the rain
Shivering, cold, feel numb with pain
Their husbands, somewhere, lost at sea
Hang onto the hope of a recovery

The storm pounced from nowhere,
Like a ferocious beast,
Devouring all in its path,
Enjoying the feast

It churned up the sea, a massive swell
The dangerous motion was ringing the bell
Those fishing boats, so little and small
Were battered to pieces, one and all

The souls on board clung onto their lives
Conditions like those, who could survive?
The horrific show could be seen from the land
Spectators all praying, they would reach the safe sand.

The barbaric animal roared again
Dragging the men, deep down, to its den
It showed no mercy, this callous creature
The brutal actions of this water feature

Two determined ladies wait in vain,
Soaked to the skin by the pounding rain
Stand to attention, stare across the sea
Look in despair at the floating debris
