Went out last night
Got in a fight
Too much beer, too much wine
Makes me argue everytime
Now my boyfriend is mad with me
I'm hoping that he will forgive me
This raging thirst
Makes things worse
And I just can't shake this headache
Waiting for the train, there's been a delay
Working out what I'm going to say
Keep looking at my watch, time moves so slow
Where is this train? I've got somewhere to go
Thinking back to last night's shame
Is this journey going to be in vain?
I wish this train would hurry up
Oh please don't let me throw up!
Come on train, this is a joke
I'm not even allowed to smoke!
I need to see him, I have to try
I hope this won't mean goodbye
As I wait and listen to our song
It reminds me how I've been so wrong
I promise I won't take another drink
Will he forgive me? What do you think?Another photo prompt from creative writing ink.
I couldn't decide if she was remorseful or just
fed up having to wait for the train!
A hangover. An interesting perspective. Then again, I'm not a poet here :)
ReplyDeleteJust one minor, teeny-weeny thing. I think that instead of "Now my boyfriend is mad wth me", it's "Now my boyfriend is mad at me"
Other than that, another solid one!
Hi, thanks for you comment. I wasn't too happy with my work this week. It took a long time to get the brain into gear!
ReplyDeleteYour comment has sparked a good debate with friends and I have been determined to find out which is correct!
Mad at....
or
Mad with....
Research would show that they are interchangeable, therefore both are correct and it is personal preference. However, I am quite happy to stand corrected if my research proves to be wrong!
Thanks again si_ulil. I'm looking forward to reading your next piece!
