The Race is On!

I was too slow off the mark to post this poem in time for the weekly exercise at www.creativewriting.com.  Ironic really, considering the title of the piece! 

Cars on the road, racing roaring

In a bid to get home, while the fires are burning

The mechanical ants returning to their nest

Marching at night, looking forward to some rest

A frenetic pace 

To win this race

Wiill this taxi get home first?
